Weekly Update! |
||||
Good evening Resident,
With a slow start to the week, and incidents picking up leading into the weekend, I'll do my best to get you through everything that your city centre teams have been up to.
What’s Been Happening
Arrests – Six arrests made on the City Centre this week for offences including harassment, burglary and rape. Two separate arrests were made for theft from stores in the City and our Guardian Task Force detained a male for a stop and search, the male was subsequently arrested for possession of Class A drugs and a bladed article. W were also notified of an arrest made by Met police of an individual who has committed sexual offences in Wolverhampton, he was dealt with accordingly by them.
Community Engagement – Firstly, I would like to apologise with regards to the planned community event at the Art Gallery earlier this week. Due to unforeseen circumstances i was unable to attend the event and did not have sufficient time to send a message out warning you that it was cancelled. Now that's out of the way, Team 2 PCSOs hosted a Cuppa with a Copper session in the Sher Coffee Shop within the Mander Centre. We had 1 person come and have a chat with us for around 45 minutes and they even took a few freebies away. Team 1 PCSOs held their weekly Cuppa with a Copper session inside the Mander Centres Costa Coffee to a decent reception as always. Sergeant Lewandowski took time out of her busy schedule to pay a visit to the Police Cadets this week and see how they are getting on. Finally, PCSO Spittle attended the College campus on Bilston Street to hold a ‘Workshop’, an update on his event that day should be with you soon.
Guardian Patrols – Nothing new with our patrols this week, very quiet as it has been a wet one and we imagine not many people want to be out and about, Guardian Task Force teams did manage an arrest which is detailed in the above arrests section. We continue to patrol around our ‘Hotspot’ areas, these include but are not limited to Dudley street, St Peters Gardens and the Bus Station.
Night-Time Economy – No NTE news this week because as I am writing this we have only just started our first NTE shift of the week. I'll give you an update on how the weekend went when I send out next weeks post!
Other News - Further to my mentioning of a male that had stolen items from HMV in the city centre a few weeks ago, I can now update you on how his court date went. The male was charged with the theft and subsequently fined £200. Later in the week a 15 year old had a bit of a shock when he was detained by PCSOs in the Mander Centre after trying to ‘Prank’ people by putting his phone near peoples pockets and playing the ApplePay sound. This caused harassment and distress to a few members of the public, and after a quick talking to by both PCSOs and Officers he was collected by a teacher and taken back to school, hopefully learning his lesson.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and i hope you look forward to the next one!
